Famous cookery writer and television chef Robert Carrier purchased the Hall back in 1971, marking the beginning of the Hall’s longstanding affiliation with fine dining. During his time here, Carrier ran exclusive cookery weekends for friends, famously opened a cookery school at the Hall, and filmed hit TV cookery programmes in one of the suites. Building upon the prestige for good food Carrier had created, subsequent owners of Hintlesham Hall have endeavoured to uphold this reputation for fine dining and continue to offer guests superb cuisine of the highest standard.
