Meet the Chef

At the heart of dining at Hintlesham Hall is Lee Cooper, a Certified Master Chef of Great Britain with over 20 years of experience in some of the country’s most highly regarded kitchens. Throughout his career, Lee has earned multiple AA Rosettes for his cooking, a reflection of both his skill and his passion for delivering food of the highest standard.

His style is rooted in modern British cuisine, with a focus on seasonality, provenance and balance. Lee works closely with the Hall’s gardens to bring freshly picked herbs, fruit and vegetables to the menu, complementing them with the very best locally sourced meat and fish. This blend of home-grown produce and regional ingredients creates refined dishes that are true to their Suffolk surroundings.

Alongside his cooking, Lee is a dedicated kitchen leader and mentor, guiding the next generation of chefs with the same passion and commitment that has defined his own career. For Lee, dining at Hintlesham Hall is about more than a meal; it’s about crafting memorable experiences, where guests can enjoy food that reflects the changing seasons, the beauty of the estate, and the rich traditions of British hospitality
