Welcome to Ipswich’s Carrier’s Restaurant at Hintlesham Hall. We offer guests and local residents a taste of history and passion through our seasonal menus filled with rich flavours, designed for maximum enjoyment for our guests while remaining at reasonable prices. The restaurant offers a menu full of options and flavour, perfect for any formal and informal occasion from birthday celebrations to family meals out.
The re-naming of the restaurant also includes a full restoration of Robert’s old herb garden and vegetable patch, which is now in full swing once more, producing a mass of vegetables for the Kitchen including: Fine Beans, Broad Beans, Peas, Heritage Carrots, Courgettes, Swiss Chard, Radishes, along with a variety of Salads and Herbs appearing on our seasonal menus.

Hintlesham Hall’s Head Chef, Alan Ford, demands the best quality ingredients to build a well-balanced carte which appeals to gourmet and health-conscious alike. Many of the dishes encompass fresh herbs from the Hall’s famous garden, and our extensive wine list ranges the world from France to Australia, and includes a marvellous selection of half-bottles.
Head Chef Alan Ford is passionate about offering the best cuisine possible, appealing to all tastes and encompassing all dietary requirements. We have a full a la carte menu running alongside our Table d’Hote Dinner menu. We also have our informal lounge menu (available daily from 7am to 10.30pm) offering lighter bites to enjoy in any of our lounges, bedrooms or within our beautiful gardens.
