Famous cookery writer and television chef Robert Carrier purchased the Hall back in 1971, marking the beginning of the Hall’s longstanding affiliation with fine dining. During his time here, Carrier ran exclusive cookery weekends for friends, famously opened a cookery school at the Hall, and filmed hit TV cookery programmes in one of the suites.
