What a beautiful day to be getting organised in the garden. Carried away with all the planning, need to be a bit more realistic, still plenty of time for the weather to deteriorate and put us behind like last year, but difficult to not feel hopeful on a day like this.
Crocuses and snowdrops all over the place. Kai has got the broadbeans planted in pots in the greenhouse, next to the sweetpeas I’ve sown in recycled loo rolls from the hotel.
Spent time resetting the border stones and gravel paths in the sensory garden whilst we can see the edges. Very satisfying, but my back is suffering now.
BUT the most exciting thing is in the cutting flower bed, a new project for this year! The rannunculus and anemone leaves have been visible for a few weeks but today the tulips are breaking through. In a few weeks the hotel should be full of vases of beautiful, homegrown flowers.
As I said…..difficult to not feel hopeful on a day like this. Will keep you posted.
